KAYA awarded part in IGI&S program
KAYA Associates, Inc. was recently awarded a $158 million dollar contract with the Army to provide Geographic Information Systems (GIS) support to the Installation Geospatial Information and Services (IGI&S) program—a GIS undertaking of enormous scope which involves the consolidation of every Army Installation’s GIS data. To date, we have been awarded six task orders on this contract, and the work tasked to us under this contract is varied. We will be providing dedicated GIS support at the installation level, ranging from on-site staff involved in the development of geospatial data for individual Army bases to a broader effort collecting and standardizing vast amounts of GIS, CADD, and imagery data from 45-plus installations.
KAYA has also been tasked with supporting the development of Army GIS policies and standards, providing expert support at the command level, developing a prototype for migrating GIS data into the Army Mapper (a huge centralized GIS database), and scanning and converting huge amounts of imagery into digital data for use in the Army Mapper. This contract is further proof that while KAYA is classified as a small business, we are more than capable of big things.
